   My ‘youngest’ & I went to see the High Frame Rate [HFR] 3D (48 frames per second, rather than 24 frames per second) presentation of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” over the weekend it was released, @welshdragon, & I pre-ordered the Steelbook edition (only available at Amazon.co.uk) as soon as it was listed for sale last week:

   I do not watch 3D presentations as a rule, but wanted to see what difference the High Frame Rate would make.

   One of my other kids has now shown interest in watching it at the cinema before the Blu-ray Disc is available on 8 April 2013… so I suppose I will have to go again! However, I may watch in standard presentation this time so I can compare the two formats.

   I also fell asleep during the first of the “Lord of the Rings” Trilogy, @mrsrogers. I have the extended editions of all three films on DVD, but I am not sure if I should wait until the last of the three films for “The Hobbit” to see if a boxed set containing every extended version of all four films is released.

   (All three of us saw “Wreck-it Ralph” [in glorious 2D] the weekend before last)
