I’ve been looking for a new series to get into, will have to see what the hubby thinks, thanks, seems like a good deal.

I’ve not seen this either, I started getting a bit fed up of these American drama series that would start on a massive momentum, then get cancelled after a season or two. I’ll have a look at this one though.

I am presently working my way through the various seasons of the following US shows:
“Blue Bloods”
“Burn Notice”
“Criminal Minds” / “…Suspect Behavior”
“Elementary”
“Leverage”
“Numb3rs”
“The Big Bang Theory”
“The Following”
“The Mentalist”
“Two & A Half Men”
Some old favourites:
“Monk”
“Las Vegas”
“Knight Rider” (2008)
It isn’t just the US that can produce good quality program[me]s though.
Don’t forget UK shows, such as:
“Doctor Who”
“Sherlock”
“Waking The Dead” (although now deceased itself)
“Spooks” (ditto)
“Hustle” (Hmmm… a pattern forming here)
“Judge John Deed” (another one!)
“Jonathan Creek” (new stories this year, I believe)
“Strike Back” / “…Project Dawn” / …”Vengeance” (the second & third are US/UK productions, & the third was screened on Sky 1 [in the UK] in September 2012, but in the US [on Cinemax] in August 2012)
“Little Britain” (well, the first & second series)
“Outnumbered”
“The IT Crowd”
“The Inbetweeners”
“The Office”
“Whitechapel”
I also enjoyed “Hunted” (Series 1; although the BBC have dropped the rights, a further series is planned).
Although I have seen every episode, I am still undecided about “Ripper Street”.

Now £41.88 at Amazon (UK), but still £36.29 at Play.com.

What do we think of this series? I’m on the lookout for something for hubby’s birthday this year.

Ooh, thanks for the list fanpages, have you watched the US office? It’s completely different to the UK one (which I am also a big fan of) but hilarious. A new Johnathan Creek series? Excellent, used to be one of my favourite programmes!

@mrsrogers: “Numb3rs” can be, erm, a little ‘geeky’ at times with some of the presentations of the techniques used to solve the crimes, but there is a family/friends background plot that plays out throughout the individual stories so you can simply ignore the short explanations when the scholars “do the math” in each program(me).
Not all the stories are fiction either. look for the book, “The Numbers Behind Numb3rs: Solving Crime with Mathematics”, by Keith J Devlin & Gary Lorden (published by Plume Books on 28 August 2007)
@bumblebee: I have seen a couple individual episodes of the US version of “The Office”, & I do like Steve Carell, but Ricky Gervais’ creation ended at the right time. Nine seasons of the US version is probably taking the idea far too far.
Sorry to disappoint you, but there is just one episode of “Jonathan Creek” announced so far. An “Easter Special” lasting 90 minutes:
“The Clue of the Savant’s Thumb”

I tried to get into this but couldn’t, I’m not sure why as I tried twice.

I think the characters are not quite as easy to relate to as some other crime/detective shows. Did you start watching from the first episode of the first season?
